As I Look To You

As I look to you, I think it’s fitting on this day to say “it is time to go”. 54 years ago today, God brought me to two wonderful parents. It is a bittersweet decision, however, I made God a promise last night as I take a new path and close my boundaries even smaller, as he has shown me.

I heard in my spirit God say, for the last two days and for a long time, “trust me”. I heard specifically the last two days – “hold on” and the word “faith” as my birthday gift to you. He laid on my heart that he has new things for me to do and now it’s my time to look away from circumstances and even people and hurt and surrender it all to Him…and focus on the ONE who will never leave me or forsake me and has loved me for me since day one!

I have had beautiful exchanges here at Pressing On and felt some really special connections to some of you and to your stories. I want to leave you with a few special words laid on my heart:

Dear one:

Thank you for the minutes of time you have allowed me to share my story and my heart with you and for the exchanges that I have had with some of you. I believe our stories are each beautiful and valuable and that they should be shared. You never know who God has placed within ear shot or on the side of the computer screen, that may be impacted for good and to serve God, so I encourage you to share your story. Again, I thank you for your time in reading what I’ve shared. For some of you that has been over a period of two years.

I wish for you much love and happiness but the truth is God is our 1 true north. He is the source of all true love. He is beside you, behind you, in front of you and if you have accepted Christ as your Savior – within your heart. He will carry you when you can’t take another step, pick you up when you fall to the floor. Just trust Him!

When storms are fierce around you, when the mountains loom large in your path, when the valley’s are deep, when the enemy whispers you are unworthy of all connections in life and that you are doomed, or he whispers – you are lovely in an attempt to to draw you away from God, I pray you will have discernment to know who’s voice it really is.

I pray you will turn to the ONE who can walk with you through and over those mountains an valleys and circumstances – just fix your eyes on Jesus – your ONE true North.

If you haven’t confessed Jesus as your Lord and Savior, I urge you to do this now. It is so very important to where you will spend eternity.

If you have decided to pick up your cross and follow Him that is wonderful.

As I had an opportunity to share with my son this morning as we waited at his bus stop, …

“I know you know about the great things God can do for you and I know that you have heard in church about God and all of his love, but I also want you to know Jesus his son. He was a real man that walked this earth for 33 years. You don’t have to take my word for it, I will get you a bible and I urge you to read his story. He died a horrible death for us – but what I want you to understand is that while there is good , there will be such torment for those that do not ask Jesus into their heart before his second coming. That torment will be eternal separation from God and eternal torment. There will be no sorrow or pain in heaven. It will be beautiful. We may not have memory of who is not there, but I understand we will know our loved ones and I want to see you and all of my family there.

Again, I don’t want you to just hear my words, but to read the story yourself, starting with all that Jesus did – so that you can test and approve for yourself and get to know Jesus on your own.”

He listened intently. He nodded, not an okay Mom (sigh) …but a real intentional nod. It was a great moment.

I urge YOU to read the story for yourself. I urge YOU to always test and approve what you read on a blog or elsewhere online or even in books and magazines, by picking up the One true source – the Bible. If you don’t know where to start, I urge YOU to find someone you trust that is a Christian and ask them to help you get started. The journey will be yours but it is so worth it and it will be a beautiful unfolding.

I want to tell you one additional thing laid on my heart from my pastor tonight: not only does God offer unconditional love, but forgiveness for your sins. Jesus bore our sins – your sins, my sins – all of our sins on the cross. He took all of the pain upon himself to save us. Will you read His story? Will you find out for yourself? I hope you will – my prayer that somehow – this will lead you to Christ! He wants a relationship with YOU!

So, again from my heart… thank you for allowing me these days.. sharing my journey with you – perhaps we will meet again…God bless you!

    1. Andi – you are so sweet and thank you for your kind words. I urge you dear one to please seek out other Christians in your walk and as I wrote about to always test and prove what is written. I do not claim to know it all but I can promise you God loves you and so do I. Yes, dear one…I feel it is time for me to try my hand at other things and I felt it impressed upon my heart very strongly recently – so I feel it is time. I thank you so much for your kinds words…and your comments and your encouragement. /New Living Translation
…but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. God bless you Andi!
